Thank you for your interest in volunteering with the Senior Shopper Program. We are providing grocery shopping every week for clients. All of our clients live in Somerset County and we do our best to match you with someone who lives nearby to you.
This program is designed to assist homebound individuals ages 60 and over. Community volunteers will provide weekly grocery shopping, food delivery and visiting services with the primary purpose of enabling older persons to maintain themselves in their place of residence by removing barriers to their care and well-being. The clients pay for their groceries. This service is funded by and requires a referral from the Somerset County Office on Aging and Disability Services.
Expectations of Volunteers:
Attend virtual training and complete required paperwork at time of enrollment
Communicate with your client on a regular basis, obtain their shopping list, complete grocery shopping at the nearest supermarket and deliver groceries to the senior's residence.
Submit your service hours to JFS
